Pepe Reina has explained that he ‘waited for the best opportunity’ this summer before choosing Bayern Munich, but says he’s grateful to Napoli.
The Spain international spent last season on loan with the Vesuviani, but terms on a permanent move from Liverpool could not be agreed, before he ultimately joined Pep Guardiola’s side.
“In the summer I waited for the best opportunity and I eventually chose Bayern, one of the best clubs in the world,” Reina has reflected this week on Onda Cero.

“In Germany I am happy, whilst I also enjoyed a beautiful experience in Naples. I will always be grateful to that city, I have many friends there.
“It’s true that in Naples you cry twice – when you arrive and then when you leave.”
