Manchester City are reportedly willing to make Paul Pogba the highest paid player in their history with a hefty bid this summer.

The Citizens failed to defend their Premier League crown this season and are seen as looking to combat the likely departure of Yaya Toure with a bid for Juventus’ French international.

The Daily Mail believes that City will offer Pogba a wage higher than Toure’s weekly salary of about €305,000, as well as shelling out on a transfer fee of £70m, around €96m.

The Daily Mail believes that City will offer Pogba a wage higher than Toure’s weekly salary of about €305,000, as well as shelling out on a transfer fee of £70m, around €96m.

They are believed likely to face stiff competition from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain for the 22-year-old’s signature, but will comply with Financial Fair Play rules by selling Toure and other high earners.

Pogba has scored eight goals in Serie A this season including the opener against Cagliari on Sunday, his first appearance in almost two months after an injury lay-off.

Meanwhile, reports in Spain are that Pogba has asked to leave Juventus in the summer and that whilst Barcelona are in the running with City and PSG, Real Madrid may have withdrawn their interest, based on his valuation.
