“At the end Samp took a lot of risks, but we managed to maintain our identity. The changes we made were slightly forced, but we managed to hold on.
“Joao Pedro? He showed his skill tonight, he’s tactically outstanding and he sacrificed so much for the team. He’s a forward who brings balance when we’re not in possession.
“As for Federico Melchiorri, he’s a guy who is an unbelievable resource in times of difficulty. He’s come back stronger than before and tonight he consecrated his return with the winning goal.”
It was announced before the match that Marco Storari had been stripped of the captaincy, with the Ultras are unhappy with his perceived devotion to Juventus.
