Deadline day passed in Italy, but Serie A clubs can still sell players abroad and Galatasaray want Andrea Ranocchia.

Although Italian sides can no longer bring in any talent – unless they are out of contract and even then the deadline is March 31 – the transfer merry-go-round isn’t standing still.

They can still sell or loan their players to certain foreign clubs, as the deadlines there are staggered.

The most intriguing market is in Turkey, where Roberto Mancini’s Galatasaray have shown a strong interest in Inter defender Ranocchia.

Their transfer deadline is 22.00 GMT tonight, so any deal with the Nerazzurri will have to be processed quickly.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Galatasaray will pay €2m to take Ranocchia for six months, though it remains to be seen whether they will include an option to buy at the end of the season.

Other transfer sessions go on for even longer, as the deadline in Argentina is February 11, it’s the 15th in Switzerland and the 24th in Russia where they have Luciano Spalletti’s Zenit.

Marcello Lippi and Guangzhou Evergrande can still attempt to sign Alessandro Diamanti from Bologna and Parma’s Jonathan Biabiany until the Chinese window closes on February 28.

The deadline in Japan is March 29, Brazil March 31 and the MLS is active until April 15.
