Andrea Ranocchia could still complete a loan move out to Galatasaray today, but it is expected to go down to the wire.

Whilst the transfer window in Italy closed on Friday, it remains open for Turkish clubs to sign players until 5.30pm CET this Monday evening.

Where reports over the weekend indicated that Ranocchia’s proposed initial switch out to Gala on loan had broken down, the Gazzetta dello Sport say that Gala are still pushing for the deal and could have it tied up, but close to the market’s close.

It is understood that both clubs and the player are interested in the move and that the current issue holding up the move is Ranocchia’s wage on offer.

Having already said yes to an initial pay-cut, it is reported that the Turks are pushing for Ranocchia to effectively now halve his current wage in order to complete the move.

Whilst this has the deal as close to collapse, the Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that the player’s hopes to push for a place in Italy’s World Cup squad may see him eventually accept the offer and complete the deal.
