Tests have confirmed Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia will be out for several weeks, but it is not as serious an injury as originally feared.
The former Genoa man was stretchered off during the 1-0 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich and was concerned, as he spent a large chunk of last term out with a left knee injury.
“The tests confirmed the latest reports, a strain of the internal collateral ligament in the left knee,” read a statement on the club website.
“The recovery time has not been suggested.”

News sources claim the spell on the sidelines will be anything from two to six weeks, depending on the extent of the strain, but at least there is no lesion.
“Ranocchia said he was calm, reassuring everyone on his condition. The results of the tests, in the end, substantially proved him right.”
