Andrea Ranocchia insists that Inter have enough options in the squad to deal with the absence of Diego Milito.

The Argentine has been ruled out for the season which has left the club with just Antonio Cassano, Rodrigo Palacio and Tommaso Rocchi in their attacking ranks.

“We're obviously sorry because Milito is not just a great player, but he's a great guy as well, and he's always made his presence felt in the dressing room,” the defender noted.

“But we have a number of players who will step in now and try to replace him as best they can.”

Their proposed bid to sign John Carew on a free transfer this week collapsed after he failed a medical.

“I don't know what the club will do now, that's something for them to decide,” the international continued.

“All we players have to do is to get on with playing the game and leave other things to those at the top. We're well equipped up front though.

“We've got Rocchi and other players who I'm sure will come to the fore now.”

Inter are fifth in the table, but only three points behind the Champions League zone.

“It's a pretty intense battle and it makes it very intriguing,” the former Genoa stopper noted. “It's a hard-fought Serie A this year.

“We'll keep fighting until the end because we must get into the Champions League spots.”
