Andrea Ranocchia insists not only was there a penalty on him in the final minute of Lazio-Inter, but “the referees had already warned” Michael Ciani.

The defender appeared to be tugged back as he tried to get on to a corner in stoppages at the Stadio Olimpico, a tie that Lazio won 1-0.

“Before he dragged me down yet again, the referees had already warned Ciani. Still they didn’t blow the whistle. You’ll get nowhere with warnings,” blasted Ranocchia.

“Ciani pulled me down at every single set piece. The goalline referee was there, I don’t know how he didn’t see it. He was holding me with both arms. All he needed was to pin me down with a foot and it was complete…”

However, Ranocchia also took responsibility for Miroslav Klose’s decisive goal.

“I was marking him, so I take the blame in that situation. I thought he was going to control the ball, but instead he hit it first time and surprised me.”
