Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City succumbed to their second defeat of the season, going down 4-1 at Liverpool.

The Foxes, who memorably won the Premier League title last term, were second best for long periods against Jurgen Klopp’s side, playing at Anfield for the first time since the redevelopment of the club’s Main Stand.

Goals by Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane put Liverpool two goals up, before Jamie Vardy pulled one back for Ranieri’s team shortly before half time.

Following defeat on Merseyside, Leicester have four points from as many League games this season.

Ranieri will now turn his attentions to the Foxes’ first ever Champions League encounter, a trip to Club Brugge on Wednesday.
