Claudio Ranieri would be “glad” to take the Italy job, but the Leicester City boss joked his track record at international level is “not so good!”

Antonio Conte is increasingly likely to leave the Azzurri after Euro 2016 to take over at Chelsea, so the race is on for a replacement.

Options include Inter’s Roberto Mancini, Bologna Coach Roberto Donadoni (in what would be a return to the post he held from 2006 to 2008) and Ranieri.

“I could be glad, but now it is only just speculation,” said Ranieri in a Press conference today.

“I am focused on Leicester. You know, the last time I managed a national team it was not so good!”

Ranieri was sacked as Coach of Greece in November 2014 after a disastrous run of results that culminated in a home defeat to the Faroe Islands.
