Claudio Ranieri insists “the club and President Massimo Moratti are 100 per cent behind me” after Inter’s latest shock defeat.

The Nerazzurri were beaten 1-0 at home by 10-man bottom of the table Novara and dropped further down the standings.

It was reported that the patron and directors went into the locker room for an hour after the match for a crisis meeting with Coach and squad.

“The club and President Massimo Moratti are 100 per cent behind me. We have excellent communication and I can feel their total support.

“We tried to score all the way through the game in a thousand different ways. We even changed our tactics midway through and putting pressure on with three men in midfield rather than four is very different.”

It was a 3-1 defeat to Novara in September that prompted the club to sack Gian Piero Gasperini and bring in Ranieri.

“Wesley Sneijder is a champion who has always done brilliantly for Inter, but now he has to settle into a different tactical context, with other mechanisms and requirements.

“It’s only natural the fans are not happy at the moment. We won’t give up, though, as we just need to make the right adjustments.”
