Claudio Ranieri is involved in a war of words with former France Coach Raymond Domenech – “I won’t listen to him about football!”

The former Bleus boss criticised the Italian for his defensive tactics, tweeting after the 4-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain “finally the parking the bus strategy didn’t do better than all the small 2Cvs” with several laughing emojis.

The official Nantes Twitter account hit back with “not sure you’re the best person to talk about buses”, after the French squad infamously mutinied against him in 2010 and refused to leave the team coach.

Today Ranieri spoke in a Press conference, and he also had some harsh words for Domenech.

“If you want to talk about buses, the bus I know best is Raymond Domenech’s,” Ranieri joked.

"The bus he did was very important. But the thing that is very serious is he made jokes about our Coach. It's incredible. A [former] France Coach making these jokes.

"And ethics? If Domenech were to talk about theatre perhaps I would listen, but when he talks about football? Never! Never!

“Criticism is good for a Coach, because it helps you to improve. It depends who is doing the criticising though.

"When you [the media] asked me about parking the bus, I laughed and said I'd park two buses.

“I’ve never seen a journalist tell another journalist that he’s no good. Maybe between yourselves, but never publicly. Never. It’s very serious.

"Domenech, Domenech… it's incredible."

Domenech took France to the World Cup final in 2006, where they were beaten by Italy, but he was a controversial figure after claiming to pick players based on star signs.

The Coach refused to pick Robert Pires because he’s a Scorpio, and once said: “When I‘ve got a Leo in defence, I've always got my gun ready, as I know he's going to want to show off at one moment or another and cost us”.
