Ranieri is currently the manager of French club Monaco, but multiple reports suggest he will leave or be fired at the end of the season.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, a return to Serie A and specifically Sardinia is on the cards.
Ranieri had already been in charge of Cagliari from 1988 to 1991, helping them go from Serie C to the top flight.
It’s rumoured the American conglomerate currently in talks with Cellino to buy out Cagliari are eager to give Ranieri the reins once more.
They are also planning the complete reconstruction of the Stadio Sant’Elia.
