Sergio Ramos ended up positively celebrating his Champions League ban after Real Madrid beat Juventus 3-0.

The captain will be suspended for the second leg at the Bernabeu, which now seems like getting it out of the way going into the semi-finals.

“Given the result, maybe it’s for the best that I’ll miss the second leg. It’s not that bad!” Ramos told BeIN Sports.

“Given the result, maybe it’s for the best that I’ll miss the second leg. It’s not that bad!” Ramos told BeIN Sports.

“I think it’s the first time that I was shown a yellow for being fouled…

“The is not over yet. We could’ve extended our lead, but we weren’t able to. Now we have to finish it off.”

Cristiano Ronaldo was the star of the show with a brace, including his sensational bicycle kick.

“It was a ‘golazo’. He’s also won the prize of fans recognising that he’s played at this level for so many years with their applause.

“He’s in a scary run of form. I hope he can see out the season like this. The result was impeccable, very good.

“Everything went perfectly, but now we must finish the job at home.”
