Inter and Napoli are on alert after Southampton midfielder Gaston Ramirez confessed he could “return to Italy.”

The former Bologna man joined the Saints for £12m in August 2012, but has barely featured for the club this season.

“I have to meet the chairman to see if Ramirez stays in the Premier League or if he will return to Italy,” agent Pablo Betancourt told The Mirror newspaper.

“If he is to go, it is important that it happens before the World Cup.”

The 22-year-old is determined to get more playing time so he can secure his spot at the tournament with Uruguay.
While The Mirror claims Inter and Napoli are the most interested clubs, Ramirez would also be of use to many smaller sides, including a return to Bologna.
