Nice President Jean-Pierre Rivere has revealed how Mino Raiola warned him against signing Mario Balotelli prior to the striker’s arrival from Liverpool.
Balotelli has made an instant impact for Nice with four goals in just three appearances, but according to Rivere, the Ligue 1 club were given a far-from-glowing appraisal about the striker from his agent.

“Before an important meeting with Mario, which was delayed because of a problem on his plane, Mino Raiola listed to me all the reasons why I shouldn’t have signed the player,” he told L’Equipe.
“And when the player arrived, Mino told him, ‘All the bad things about you that I had to say to the president, I told him’.
“Raiola told me that Mario could choose the team he wanted to play for.”
