“It’s ridiculous to claim that there could be any kind of jealousy within the ranks,” Quagliarella told Sky Sport Italia.

“If a great player like Van Persie arrives then it is normal that he is given the right contract. In a compact squad like ours, these things don’t affect us at all.”

Juventus are looking to touch up their squad given that they will return to Europe’s top table next term after Scudetto success.

“The season will be a lot harder with the Champions League to play for,” he added. “We need to do well at distributing our energy in the right way.
