Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are willing to trigger Edinson Cavani's release clause at Napoli, according to reports.

The Daily Star claim that the French club will battle it out with the Premier League champions for the Uruguay international's signature, and will pay the €63m it will take to prize him away from the Partenopei.

The British tabloid insist that both teams spoke with the 25-year-old's representatives over January, with a move to securing a deal at the end of the season.

Roberto Mancini wants Cavani to replace the hole in his squad left by Mario Balotelli, whilst the Ligue 1 side are hoping to rekindle the partnership he had with Ezequiel Lavezzi at Stadio San Paolo.
