Marcus Thuram and Marko Arnautovic are expected to start the second consecutive game for Inter while Italy international Mateo Retegui returns to Genoa’s XI.

It kicks off at 19:45 GMT at the Stadio Marassi.

Genoa coach Alberto Gilardino can rely on the full squad as Retegui and Kevin Strootman have returned to action. The Italian striker will likely start alongside Albert Gudmundsson in attack, while the ex-Roma midfielder should start on the bench, making room for Milan Badelj, Ruslan Malinovskyi and Morten Frendrup in central midfield.

Inter must cope without the injured Juan Cuadrado, Lautaro Martinez and Federico Dimarco. Davide Frattesi has had a fever this week, but is available and will start on the bench.

With captain Lautaro still on the treatment table, Thuram and Arnautovic will start the second consecutive game for the Nerazzurri. The Austrian striker contributed to a Nicolò Barella goal against Lecce at San Siro last week with a lovely backheel assist.

Benjamin Pavard is fit, but Yann Aurel Bisseck is favourite to start in a three-man defence.

Genoa-Inter, probable line-ups

Genoa (3-5-2): Martinez; Dragusin, Bani, de Winter; Sabelli, Malinovskyi, Badelj, Frendrup, Vasquez; Gudmundsson, Retegui.

Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Carlos Augusto; Arnautovic, Thuram.
