Bastoni confirmed his recovery from the virus with a message on Instagram, celebrating a negative swab result.
However, he won’t have time to undergo the necessary medical checks before today’s Derby della Madonnina.
Bastoni is unavailable for the match, along with Roberto Gagliardini, Milan Skriniar, Radja Nainggolan, Ashley Young and Ionut Radu, all positive for COVID-19.
Stefano Sensi is suspended and Matias Vecino injured, but Alexis Sanchez is expected to be on the bench after returning from Chile with a muscular issue.
Christian Eriksen is again likely to be benched by coach Antonio Conte, in favour of Marcelo Brozovic and Arturo Vidal, moving Nicolò Barella to a more advanced role.
Milan had their brush with COVID-19 earlier, so Ibrahimovic has now recovered and is available to start on his comeback.
Captain Romagnoli could also make his first Serie A appearance of the season after shaking off an injury, especially as Matteo Gabbia, Mateo Musacchio and Andrea Conti are out of action.
Rafael Leao and Alexis Saelemaekers are challenging for a spot in the supporting trio, as Ante Rebic is still out with a dislocated elbow and Samu Castillejo isn’t 100 per cent fit.
