The 66-year-old has been on the lookout for a buyer to take over at the Marassi outfit for a number of months, but has so far been unsuccessful in his hunt.
On from the Grifoni’s defeat to Juventus on Sunday night, the patron was asked once more for an update on his search for a successor.
“Everyone is responsible for their own actions,” began Preziosi to reporters in response.
“The time is for gentlemen – decent people will remain respectable, whilst clowns will remain as clowns.
“And here in Genoa there seems to be more than one of those.”
Preziosi also commented on Genoa’s defeat last night, which came courtesy of Andrea Pirlo’s late free-kick and only after Emanuele Calaio had missed a penalty for the home side.
“This is football, we did not deserve to lose, but we missed a penalty and we were punished for the only shot on goal Juventus had, some magic from Pirlo. We would also be moral winners, but we leave with nothing. It is not always the case that those who play best win, but Juventus have been able to field players at another level to ours.
“Calaio’s missed penalty? Perhaps he was not calm, perhaps too full of emotion. In Naples he was able to give us victory with a great free-kick. Here he was unable to affect things, but let’s not blame anyone.
“The future? Now we will finish the season. A win against Juventus would have given us hope to do something more for this season.
“Let us finish the year well and we will think about the programme for next season.”
