The toy tycoon finally agreed to sell after months of protests from the fans and narrowly avoiding relegation this season.

“There are negotiations that are on-going and we hope they prove successful. The solidity of the other party is guaranteed,” Preziosi told TeleNord.

“You certainly won’t hear me talking about negotiations just to calm the fans. I can only tell them we are doing things properly to sell the club.

“One cannot expect it to be resolved in the space of only a few days, as let’s not forget that Fiorentina’s takeover started in March. We hope it’ll be worth the time to ensure it all goes smoothly.”

However, later in the interview, Preziosi suggested there could be another way forward for Genoa.

“If I were to stay, I’d build a team that won’t make us suffer. I’d plan things out with the new Coach and try to give him the players he wants to perform his style of football.”
