“In the second half we played defensively to limit the damage, but every long ball was dangerous.

“What was said in the dressing room will stay there, but obviously I’m not happy. The defence had to be at their best, and that wasn’t the case.

“The first 15 minutes were decisive, after 2-0 we were playing without confidence. We didn’t make the right moves, the game was too fast for us.

“Maybe we can do better, but Napoli played well for every ball. Napoli are very strong, they used every available space. I won’t mention names, but their attack is impressive.”

Despite the 5-0 scoreline, Brugge picked up just one booking, is that a symptom of a lack of fight?

“Grit and determination is not about going out there to hurt someone. Obviously no-one is happy with the result, we have to find the solution to improve.

“Maybe we have to work differently to regain our confidence.”
