And Prandelli, who led Italyto the final of Euro 2012 before resigning after a group stage exit at the 2014 World Cup, would consider a return to the job if the conditions were right.
“I would only think about it if an offer were made to me with an adequate sporting project behind it,” the former Fiorentina Coach told Fox Sports.
“You can’t turn down the call of the Nazionale. I would accept the job another thousand times.”
Prandelli expressed sympathy for Ventura, sacked within days of Italy’s play-off defeat by Sweden last month.
“Ventura? I feel a sense of solidarity towards him. I wanted to call him after the match against Sweden, I didn’t have the courage!
“I felt bad for him, I would tell him not to regret anything. It wasn’t him who messed up, it was a system that doesn’t work.”
Having had spells at Galatasaray and Valencia since his stint with the Azzurri ended, Prandelli is currently in charge of Dubai club Al-Nasr.
However, he believes he will return to Serie A one day.
“Serie A? One day I will return. I am in contact with a lot of Presidents and directors.”
