Italy Under-21 boss Devis Mangia has admitted that the decisions of Cesare Prandelli will affect his squad picks for their 2013 U-21 European Championship play-off.

The Azzurrini will have to get past Sweden to qualify for the Israel Finals next summer, but Mangia’s best players may be called into Prandelli’s squad for their World Cup 2014 qualifiers against Armenia and Denmark.

“We’ll consider our options over the next few days,” Mangia said when asked by Radio Kiss Kiss if Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne would be poached by the full squad.

“It’s only natural that we’ll wait for the decisions of Prandelli and then move as a consequence, but I have an excellent relationship with the Coach and we work in perfect harmony.

“We are talking about excellent players and it is only normal that they are being considered by the full set-up as well.”

Mangia, who replaced Ciro Ferrara in the summer, could ‘lose’ the likes of Insigne, Marco Verratti and Mattia Destro to the Azzurri.

Italy’s U-21s will take on Sweden on October 12 and 16.
