The Azzurri won last night’s friendly encounter 5-3 but were guilty of poor defending on numerous occasions.
However, at a Press conference today the former Fiorentina boss said the goals conceded came about mainly as a result of individual errors rather than tactical faults.
“Two of the goals we conceded were from situations where we made individual errors,” Prandelli argued.
“The objective was to give minutes to the players, to get consistency in our play and to look at certain players in certain roles.
“It seems to me like the team did well for an hour and kept an important balance, against a club side who have important players.
“Then, with ten changes in the last half-hour, it wasn’t easy to immediately find the right dynamics and find a rhythm.
“We tried to play out a little bit too much, but the most important thing is that we have recovered players like Barzagli and Paletta.
“The young players also showed their enthusiasm. It was a real test.
“In these three friendlies we wanted to see whether our ideas could do well as a reality. Our formations have been well developed, so we will go out there with more confidence.”
