After the 2-0 win against Malta, Cesare Prandelli points out Italy are “a work in progress. We must find our identity searching for entertaining football.”

The Azzurri scraped a 2-2 draw in Bulgaria and beat Malta in their opening World Cup qualifiers, but the performances did not impress fans or media.

“I don’t like to suggest we are an open building site, but this team is a work in progress,” the Coach told ANSA news agency.

“We’ve got to be more daring. We must find our identity searching for entertaining football.

“I do not have much time, but if we all want to work towards this aim, then we can create a spectacular Nazionale.”
