Italy national team boss Cesare Prandelli has admitted that he would encourage his players to leave the field if they were subject to racist abuse.

Kevin-Prince Boateng was embroiled in a racism row earlier this month when he walked off the pitch after being jeered by Pro Patria fans in a club friendly.

And the Azzurri Coach has conceded that he would not stop his players doing the same, were it to happen on the international stage.

“I am with Boateng,” he told Radio 24. “I would let my team leave the field.

“Everyone needs to raise their voice to this issue. We cannot surrender to these people.”
