Cesare Prandelli’s two-year extension as Italy Coach apparently contains a release clause, but not for if a club comes in.

Whilst official confirmation from the Italian Football Federation [FIGC] is still to arrive, the 56-year-old has commented that he has accepted a new contract as CT to take him through to June 2016.

On from this come reports today from the Corriere della Sera that a release clause has been included in the deal, but not for the possibility of a return to club football.

The former Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”6″>Fiorentina boss had hinted in the run-up to negotiations that he harbours a desire to return to club level in the near future, but it is speculated that his release clause from this new Italy deal will centre on another aspect.

Reportedly, Prandelli can opt out of his contract only if his new role as a ‘super CT’ is not respected. Part of the agreement to stay on with the FIGC is seen to involve the Coach taking on further managerial powers with national team development, including influence over management across the youth levels.
