Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo says he has no intention of saying goodbye to boss Francesco Guidolin.

The tactician’s future is again in doubt after a problematic start to the season which has left them in fifteenth place and only four points above the drop zone.

“Guidolin is 57 and at the peak of his maturity,” Pozzo noted. “When he says that he is in love with Udine then he is telling the truth.

“I would want him at this club even once he retires from coaching. When he decides that he no longer wants to boss, then I will still want him here.

“I will not accept his departure.”

Guidolin, contracted until June 2017, is in his second stint at the Stadio Friuli. He returned in the summer of 2010 after a spell at Parma.
