The Nerazzurri are in negotiations for the Brazilian, but they’re offering a €10m loan with a €30m option to buy while the Ligue 1 side want an obligation.

Today the Coach held a Press conference ahead of the new season, and admitted he’s unhappy with the situation and the club’s transfer business in general.

“When I left at the end of the season I was happy,” Poyet told the journalists.

“But now it’s summer, the most important time for a football club and we’ve done nothing.

“Am I worried? Yes, very much so! I don’t like making excuses, but here we are, the club gives me a lot of opportunity to make excuses if they get it wrong in the month of July.

“I’m not happy at all. I want to be honest: I was expecting something different.

“I understand the situation, it’s unique. It’s difficult for owners. But in the end it comes down to me and the team, so I’m not happy.

“The Europa League is coming up on us fast and you need pre-season for that. We don’t have two loan players who played a lot [last season] or the international players.

“So the team isn’t good at all. It’s the same thing for Malcom, I still don’t know if he’ll play or if he’ll leave.

“That's the real problem. I do not know what will happen tomorrow, next week or July 26 [the Europa League first leg]. How do you plan for pre-season? Seriously, please tell me if you know.

“I’m not forbidden [from getting players], it’s not impossible but it is difficult. We’re trying to move forward with two players.”

Poyet was then asked if the situation could affect his future with Bordeaux.

“Yes, yes, even if I don’t want to put pressure on. But it has a big effect. Afterward I need to respect the players we have and try to get the best out of them on the pitch. I’ve always shouldered my responsibilities.

“But we’re taking a risk with this situation.”
