The arena is currently in the middle of massive building work, which saw an entire end bulldozed to make way for new structures.
Although the renovation is not expected to be complete until 2021, it will be divided into three phases, allowing for work on the Curva Morosini in the summer of 2020 and Ubi section in 2021.

A statement from Atalanta this evening confirmed their delegation held a “positive meeting” with UEFA representatives regarding the possibility of playing Champions League games in Bergamo next season.
They presented a dossier covering all the work done so far and future projects to make it suitable for international football.
“UEFA asked for time to view the documentation in detail and set a visit to Bergamo for the first week in July. It’ll be the first in a series of visits, showing UEFA’s desire to take Atalanta’s request into serious consideration.”
This is the first time Atalanta have ever qualified for the Champions League, as they finished a record third in Serie A.
The stadium has also been renamed the Gewiss Arena in a six-year sponsorship contract.
