Matteo Politano believes Inter ‘showed we were a great team who could scare even Barcelona’ after Tuesday’s 1-1 draw in the Champions League.
Mauro Icardi’s late equaliser salvaged a point for Inter, despite Barca dominating the game for most part, and Politano feels the second half must be the benchmark for his side.
“We faced a strong defence, but we also made it difficult for them at times,” the winger told Inter TV.

“We’re happy because we showed we were a great team who can scare even Barcelona. They’re a very good team right now, but at home we have a spectacular set of fans, who can help us.
“We put them in trouble with two or three chances. We must pick up from where we left off in the second half, with great pressing and good ball possession.
“When you go out with all these fans who applaud you, it’s something indescribable. However, there are also plenty of fans on Sundays and we always give our best to make them happy.
“Barcelona made us run a lot, they’re great at dribbling with the ball and counterattacking wasn’t easy.
“In the second half we took the appropriate measures and were able to counter well.”
