Marcelo Lippi has praised the Juventus squad, calling Paul Pogba ‘one of the best midfielders in the world’.

The former Bianconeri boss is currently in China leading Guangzhou Evergrande to the Asian Champions League.

But the 66-year-old has seen enough of the French youngster to know that he is one of the best around at the moment.

“For me, Pogba is one of the best midfielders in the world and Juve should try and keep him at all costs,” the tactician told Tuttosport.

“But Pogba should also think about the dominant cycle Juve are about to enter. They could be dominant in Europe for three or four years.”

Lippi then commented on Antonio Conte’s future, and commended Gianluigi Buffon for his service to the black and white shirt.

“I see a beautiful harmony between Conte and the club. But I know that Antonio has a crazy amount of ambition.

“He wants to win the Champions League with Juventus, I know that.

“Will he coach the national team? Maybe in 10 years. But it’s still far too early for him to do that.

“That could be the culmination of a fantastic career for him though.

“Buffon is the sort of guy that gets whatever he sets his mind on. To play until 40 is incredible.”
