Lukas Podolski is the latest in the German camp to speak of their high confidence going into Thursday’s Euro 2012 semi-final against Italy.

Joachim Low’s side will meet the Azzurri in Warsaw’s National Stadium this midweek for a place in Sunday’s final against either Portugal or Spain.

Talking to journalists ahead of facing the Italians, striker Podolski, who will join Arsenal after the tournament having reportedly rejected a move to Lazio, has reiterated Mesut Ozil’s message that Germany are thinking only of winning the competition.

“Our confidence has never been so high,” the 27-year-old said in his Press conference.

“We and Spain are the best interpreters of the modern game. I hope to play against them in the final, but first we have to win our game against the Azzurri.

“I saw them play and I do not think that they can cause us trouble, even if the game will still not be easy.

“But, we do not fear anyone and we really are capable of winning the European Championships.”
