Miralem Pjanic assured Roma “will not change our football” against Bayern Munich, even after a 7-1 defeat.

The teams meet again at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday at 19.45 GMT.

“We will not change our football and after Bayern and Napoli losses we have to prove that,” said the Bosnian midfielder in his Press conference.

“Moments like this arrive when we are facing an opponent who makes it difficult for us to play our game. We’ve learned from our mistakes and tomorrow is a chance to prove ourselves. What happened on home turf will not happen again.

“We want to show there isn’t such a big gap between us and to do that we must believe in our own strengths. We have a lot of respect for Bayern, who are the strongest team in our group with a great Coach.

“The fact remains we are second in Serie A and in our Champions League group. In tough moments we all need to stick together and work twice as hard for the team.

“What happened in the first leg was not the real face of Roma. We proved that last year and elsewhere this season. We can say it all went wrong that night, but we know our strengths and what we can do.

“Losing 7-1 certainly wasn’t good for us and we didn’t expect such a heavy result, but we must forget it as soon as possible. We need to prove it was only a blip.”

Arjen Robben wreaked havoc in the Roma defence at the Olimpico, so how will they deal with him?

“With just a little bit of space, he can decide a match,” added Pjanic. “We need another approach, but the important thing is not to defend on one player, but to be compact as a squad and not allow those spaces.”
