Andrea Pirlo admits “I’ve had talks with a lot of people” from both clubs and national teams about his future.

The former midfielder retired after the conclusion of the 2017 Major League Soccer Season, having finished his career with New York City FC.

He’ll have a farewell match at San Siro on May 19, his 39th birthday.

“I don’t know, I’ve only just finished playing,” Pirlo shrugged when asked about his future by SportMediaset.

“I don’t know, I’ve only just finished playing,” Pirlo shrugged when asked about his future by SportMediaset.

“I’ll have time to choose calmly, I’ve had talks with a lot of people, both in the national team and clubs. There will be time to think about it.

“I want to salute the Italian people and the teammates I played with [in his farewell match]. Now I’m just thinking about rest after so many years as a footballer.

“Then if there’s something nice for me to do, I’ll try to choose in the best way.”
