“I was 50 metres away from the penalty incident, so I can’t comment. Technology was used to award the penalty and it has to be respected.
“We worked well for the whole 90 minutes and are improving, even if recent results haven’t been exceptional. Today we had something that we lacked over the last few weeks.
“We are laying the foundations to rebuild a Fiorentina side that can fight for Europe in future. That means helping the players to grow and working out where to intervene.
“The top five or six sides in Serie A have a lot of money to invest, but with ideas and planning, we can achieve something too.”
