“The lads worked well this week and I expect a great performance tomorrow. I don’t know if it will be the perfect performance, especially as such things do not exist, but we must do our best. It’s a huge test against Palermo.”

Director Igli Tare said Lazio would fight for the title in two or three years and Pioli agrees with him.

“There are different components that can allow us to challenge for certain targets. You need infrastructure, planning, mentality, quality players and a positive environment.

“Lazio are working to be ready for this level. The structures are here, the club is investing in players of a certain level on top of the quality we already have. This club has huge potential.”
