“I do not need to send strength to the players, as they know we must play with our own identity, our principles and qualities to leave the field with a sense of satisfaction,” Pioli told DAZN.
The Nerazzurri are not just coming off three straight wins, but have not conceded a single goal yet this season and are extremely dangerous on the counter-attack.
“Inter are a very organised and compact team who allow very few chances, we must make the most of the one-on-one situations, as I doubt there will be many scoring opportunities.”
There are changes at the back, as Fikayo Tomori is suspended and Pierre Kalulu injured, so Simon Kjaer steps in as third-choice centre-back with Malick Thiaw.
“The defensive movements are for the entire team, and above all on the intensity and timing of the movement of the players upfront, like Pulisic, Giroud and Leao. We need to be as tight as possible, very focused, because we know the characteristics of our opponents.”
