“I have some extra guarantees from the game in Istanbul,” said the Coach of their 1-1 draw with Galatasaray.

“We are still a long way off our objectives for this season and therefore have to speed things up. I am glad to know I have many choices to field a competitive side in a very difficult match.

“We are seven points off sixth place and need a run of victories if we are to keep our European qualification hopes alive. We cannot afford any more slip-ups.

“Frosinone believe in achieving safety and are very strong on home turf, so they will do everything to win. Our approach to the game will be important, we must prove that we want the victory every bit as much as they do and give our all from start to finish.”

Antonio Candreva has been benched recently, but Pioli denied there was a problem with the former captain.

“Everyone is in competition with everyone else for a starting spot. We played many games with both Candreva and Felipe Anderson together. It all depends on their condition, the opponents and the style of match we are facing.”

Dusan Basta returns from an injury lay-off, but Stefan Radu, Santiago Gentiletti and Stefan de Vrij are out.

Lazio squad for Frosinone: Marchetti, Berisha, Guerrieri; Basta, Bisevac, Braafheid, Hoedt, Konko, Mauricio; Biglia, Candreva, Cataldi, Felipe Anderson, Kishna, Lulic, Mauri, Milinkovic-Savic, Morrison, Onazi, Parolo; Djordjevic, Keita, Klose, Matri
