“It is true that seven points from eight games aren’t much, but if we analyse only this statistic then anyone can see the glass half empty. I continue to be positive despite the fact results are not sitting well with us.

“We are growing and I know full well that time is short. We are forced to get results as soon as possible, but I have certainties and can be positive about those.

“In six out of eight games we have not been put under pressure by our opponents and had more shots on goal. A few mistakes, some of them serious, have cost us points, but these are situations we are working on.

“Inter are doing well, but if they think that they’re coming to Bologna to tread on us then they are sorely mistaken.”

It’s possible the Rossoblu will field a trident attack with Alessandro Diamanti supporting Alberto Gilardino and Manolo Gabbiadini.

“Diamanti is getting back to his old self and I’m sure he’ll lead the way.”

Bologna squad for Inter: Agliardi, Lombardi, Stojanovic; Abero, Antonsson, De Carvalho, Cherubin, Garics, Morleo, Motta, Sorensen; Guarente, Krhin, Pazienza, Pulzetti, Riverola, Taider, Kone; Diamanti, Gabbiadini, Gilardino, Paponi, Pasquato
