Stefano Pioli was “happy” for Miroslav Klose scoring Lazio’s winner against Torino, his first goal of the season.

“It’s another performance of great hunger and generosity, as we gritted our teeth when Torino forced us to suffer and reacted well after the equaliser,” Pioli told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-1 victory.

“I always said Klose is an added bonus for us, whether he plays or is just in the locker room helping his team-mates, and I am happy for him that he scored.”

The Coach was asked about the possibility of using Klose alongside Filip Djordjevic.

“We already used this tactic briefly. Tactically the team worked well, but Torino would start moves from deep and go down the flanks to catch us unprepared, so I introduced another striker to keep them busy.”

Pioli was particularly impressed with Lazio midfielder Antonio Candreva following a fourth consecutive victory.

“Antonio has incredible abilities, physical, technical and tactical. If he can maintain consistency all the way through a game, he can truly become a champion. He has huge value and even bigger potential.”
