Stefano Pioli has acknowledged Lazio’s strong start to the season but warns that his team are still to improve in certain aspects.
The Aquile followed up a positive performance at Milan in Week 1, albeit in defeat, with a convincing 3-0 win over Cesena in Week 2.
For their Coach, the performance was promising, but attention is already moving on to Week 3.
“Is there satisfaction from yesterday? Yes there was! Yesterday’s game is already archived,” Pioli has explained to Lazio Style Radio today.

“We have provided some continuity because of what we offered against Milan in Week 1 in our performance.
“Now we have set in place a few things and we are thinking about the next game against Genoa, in a difficult stadium and against an opponent who always creates many difficulties.
“We have seen many comforting aspects yesterday. It was important to play the game, to keep handling the ball and to be dangerous. Yet, even in the game yesterday there have been situations that can and should be better managed.
“It was a good game, three important points, but to grow and become a team we have to improve and we want to provide continuity in our play from the next game with Genoa.”
On the Grifone, Pioli is taking nothing for granted.
“I believe that Genoa are a team that knows how to adapt to the characteristics of their opponent when not in possession.
“There are situations that in the week we will analyse. Nevertheless, this will not change our attitude. Let’s start with the concepts that are clear, namely being very compact, defend by attacking, trying to get hold of the ball and forcing the opponent to become more defensive than offensive.
“We will have to prepare very well because it will be an important test in our journey.”
