Terrible bad luck for Mauricio Pinilla who, just 24 hours after he was given the all-clear for the Sicilian derby, has picked up a thigh strain.
The Palermo striker seemed to have won his race against time to be fit for Sunday's Serie A showdown with Catania.
Yesterday the Chilean was sent home from international duty with the slight muscular twinge and hoped it was nothing serious after missing 14 games with a metatarsal fracture this season.
Pinilla took part in regular training on Tuesday and straight away picked up a left thigh strain.

“Tests showed a first degree lesion in the left thigh,” confirmed a Palermo statement.
It's believed the striker will be out of action for at least two weeks, so is out of the Derby di Sicilia.
