Atalanta centre-forward Mauricio Pinilla admits he’d love to go back to Universidad de Chile.
His national side lost to Argentina in a 2018 World Cup qualifier and he discussed his future with local reporters.
“Everyone knows what my sentiments are for Universidad. I’d love to return, but when we had the chance, nothing came of it.
“I won’t close the doors to a return, because I grew up there and had the best moments of my career.”

The 32-year-old hasn’t played for Universidad since 2007 and has an extremely varied CV with spells in Italy, Spain, Scotland, Portugal, Brazil and Cyprus.
Pinilla has been in Italy regularly since 2009, playing for Grosseti, Palermo, Cagliari, Genoa and Atalanta.
This season he has five goals in 18 official games for the Orobici.
