Sampdoria made an anti-war gesture ahead of their match against Atalanta, with a number of banners also calling for peace.

Ukrainian forward Vladyslav Supryaha held up a shirt saying “We stand for peace” at the Gewiss Stadium as the Ligurian club looked to send a clear signal of peace. A number of anti-war banners were also seen inside the grounds, with statements such as “No war in Ukraine”.

UEFA and FIFA announced today that Russian clubs and the national team are no longer allowed to compete in their tournaments.
