CONI President Gianni Petrucci and Inter patron Massimo Moratti agree with Juventus chief Andrea Agnelli’s call for a Calciopoli round table.

In this evening’s Press conference, Agnelli urged the CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) to form a political and sporting round table to discuss the full Calciopoli evidence and bring calm back to the sport.

“I read President Agnelli’s words with pleasure,” replied CONI leader Petrucci. “I take into account his requests and will verify the timing, method, circumstances and people who should be invited to the political round table, but certainly his tone helps it to happen.

“His approach favours dialogue. I want to be a man of peace and am ready to think of the future.”

Inter President Moratti also replied to these comments and Petrucci’s call for football to leave the courts.

“I completely agree with CONI President Petrucci,” said Moratti on the official Inter website.

“I am by his side and share the spirit and sense of responsibility with which he faced this difficult moment in Italian football, which we hope can return to being above all a sport and not a problem for tribunals.”
