Vladimir Petkovic expects a “tough” test against Chievo and is amused that Lazio “were considered hopeless a few weeks ago and champions now.”

The Biancocelesti stuttered throughout the summer, but have a 100 per cent record in official games between Serie A and the Europa League.

“I don’t look at the table, as we are able to give and to expect more. We must show infinite hunger and do the utmost to win every single game.

“Let’s just say that to we were considered hopeless a few weeks ago, but after the first couple of games it already seems as if we’re champions… In any case, we must try to maintain the positive trend and that way people will take us more and more seriously.

“Will there be squad rotation ahead of Tottenham on Thursday? I only take into account the next match and it’ll be very tough against Chievo,” said the Coach.

“We have to maintain this positive streak. Those in the best shape will play in the best formation for that moment in time.

“Chievo are very strong on home turf, as they remain solid and ready to hit on the counter-attack with strikers of experience and pace.”

Senad Lulic is in doubt for the Sunday lunchtime kick-off at the Stadio Bentegodi, while Miroslav Klose is fit to play despite picking up a knock on international duty.

“We have a big squad and there are several options at my disposal. Lulic hasn’t trained much this week and we’ll have to see how he does today.”
