Pescara President Daniele Sebastiani poured cold water over reports Zdenek Zeman could return to the club. “He has other expectations.”

The Delfini won the Serie B tournament last season with Zeman at the helm, but he left after securing promotion to take over at Roma.

He was fired in February and has been spotted several times at the Pescara training camp since his dismissal, fuelling rumours of a return.

“Zeman has a contract with Roma and I think he has other expectations,” President Sebastiani told Sky Sport Italia.

“I have always said his return would please us, but we have to deal with reality. Now we must wait and there is time to evaluate the situation.”

Zeman could not return to Pescara this season, as a Coach cannot work for more than one club in a single Serie A campaign.

The Stadio Adriatico club struggled this term with Giovanni Stroppa, Cristiano Bergodi and now Cristian Bucchi on the bench.

“Stroppa and Bergodi are both excellent Coaches who I’m sure will be at the top level for a long time. They paid for their lack of experience with our squad.”
